I crashed onto the ground with a devastating impact, skidding across the dirt before coming to an abrupt halt as I slammed against the side of a building. I shakily got back onto my feet as clouds of dust billowed out and rose up, stumbling slightly.

What the hell was that substance? My body's regeneration has dealt with it now, but that effect, even with my dulled sense of pain, it was agonizing.

Damn it, where are the Hunters that were supposedly dispatched?! Should they not have arrived by now?!

No, I need to compose myself. Losing my temper will only make things worse for myself. Remember, despite my superior power, they are more skilled than I am.

I turned across to my right as a wave of shimmering blue energy came shooting through the dust, barreling towards me with immense speed. I took off into the air, ascending as fast as I could to try and evade the attack.

I winced sharply as the wave engulfed my feet, my skin sizzling excruciatingly, throbbing with agonizing pain. I gritted my teeth as I flew up, firing out a slash of Lux to cut off my legs and relieve myself of the pain.

As I began to regrow my legs, an unfamiliar figure came into sight, flying towards me rapidly. The figure had jet-black scales spread out across their entire body, along with wings and a tail. Several spots across the scales had jagged cracks across them, with a deep, dark blue glow shining out of the cracks.

Wait, this murky Aura, is that Cleo Nova?

As she fired out a blast of that radiating blue energy, I swiftly canceled it out with a bolt of Divine Lightning, my attack shooting through hers and barreling straight towards her.

She quickly crossed her arms in front of herself defensively, wincing sharply as my attack collided against her forearms and launched her back through the air.

I veered across the air as a barrage of explosions came shooting up towards me, erupting several meters above me as I avoided them.

"Let's see how well this works, shall we?" Suddenly came Kaivel Intrix's voice, chanting as I began to turn around, "!"

I gasped sharply as an excruciating jolt hit the very core of my being, several spots across my body rupturing and tearing open. Wh-What is this...?!

My vision blurred sharply as violent spasms erupted across my body-...suddenly, Kaivel Intrix rushed forward and grabbed my face, his body covered in electric blue scales, resembling that of the electric reptilian summon I destroyed earlier.

He tightened his grasp on my face before hurling me down towards the ground, right as the woman I hadn't accounted for came racing out of a nearby alley and leapt up towards me as I plummeted.

She drove her knee up as I got within her reach, slamming it against the middle of my back and launching me straight back up into the air. A massive explosive projectile came shooting towards me from my right, hitting my side before I could react and blasting me across to my left, sending me spinning through the air at a breakneck speed.

I slammed onto the ground, skidding several meters across the dirt before coming to a sliding halt, most of my body destroyed. I shakily began to get back up as Kaivel Intrix and Cleo Nova shot towards me, while Ciel Campbell took aim with another explosive projectile...her appearance has changed too, her hair has turned white and her eyes red, and her power has grown exponentially.

Is this the power of the otherworldly Spirits the Gods mentioned? I need to-...

"!"

As a violent spray of liquid came shooting out of a nearby alley, I flew up as fast as I could, just barely avoiding the attack. Sharp sizzles rang out as the liquid splattered across the ground and ate through the dirt, before I turned my gaze ahead as the others began to close in on me.

Kaivel Intrix fired out a drilling ray of dark energy at me, as Cleo Nova backed him up with a volley of shimmering blue energy blasts, boxing me in and keeping me from escaping.

I let the dark blast hit my right leg, one of the blue energy blasts grazing the side of my left arm. As I began to charge up Divine Lightning, the two of them came to a halt and backed away, before my eyes widened in alarm as a dark red glow washed over me from above.

I turned my gaze up just in time to see an explosive projectile close in on me, inches away from my face. I unleashed a burst of Divine Lightning right in the nick of time, weakening the explosion somewhat.

But it still erupted with tremendous force, caving my face in and launching me back down towards the ground. I gritted my teeth and unleashed a burst of light energy from behind my back, canceling out the momentum and bringing myself to a halt in midair.

"You certainly aren't weak, but it's obvious that you have no real combat experience. I'm not even close to using my full power yet," Remarked Kaivel Intrix tauntingly.

"Soon enough, you will regret those words, I can assure-...ah, right on cue," I responded with a smirk.

"Over there!"

"It's those terrorists!"

"We need to back Baraq up, don't let them win!"

Finally, I can-...

"Alright, everyone, time to retreat!" Suddenly called out Kaivel Intrix, opening a portal as dozens of Hunters came rushing into sight.

Hm? Ah, so that's how he escaped the first time. An isolated dimension, is it? Of course, and it must have some sort of time dilation function. However...

"You're either trying to retreat, or get me to chase you and lure me into a trap. You take me too lightly, humans. I will not allow either option to come to fruition! Now, the time has finally come...!" I roared, a blinding flash of light erupting around me as my power surged immensely.

A golden barrier spanning a one hundred meter radius rapidly expanded around me, the portal abruptly closing as the barrier expanded past it. My power continued to surge as I transformed, a pair of white-feathered wings sprouting out of my shoulder blades, as a glowing golden Halo formed above my head.

And with this, begins the end of this battle. Right here and now, these humans shall fail the trial and cease to exist...
